A quick place to access all of my recipes.

Making good bakes is a lot easier when you have the right equipment. The below list is made up of kitchen equipment which I would be lost without. This list is continually growing (and definitely not a ‘be all/end all’), but hopefully it will help those who are not sure what they need to get on the baking road.

  • Electric scales – you can leave the mixing bowl on top, and keep putting the scales back to zero when you are adding the next ingredient
  • Measuring spoons – 1/4 tsp, 1/2 tsp, 1 tsp and 1 tbsp
  • Electric whisk – handy for meringues
  • A good rolling-pin
  • Heavy mixing bowls (in different sizes) – the sturdier the better, especially for beating and whisking
  • Muffin and cupcake tins
  • Loaf tin – good for cakes and fridge bakes as well as bread
  • Square and round tins (8″, 10″ and 12″) – always good to have a range of sizes, and double of each to make layer cakes
  • Rectangular tin – for brownies, traybakes and flapjacks
  • Wooden and metal spoon – for mixing, beating (wooden) and folding (metal)
  • A good spatula
  • Cereal-size tupperware boxes to store flour and sugar in the cupboard
  • A stock of plastic icing bags and a range of nozzles
  • A large pie/tart tin – ones with holes in the bottom and a removable base are best for tarts
  • 2 cooling racks – for the days when you go bake crazy…..
  • Biscuits cutters – any shape, but always good to have some round ones to hand
  • LOTS of baking parchment – bulk-buying is best
  • A range of muffin and cupcake cases
  • Plastic and metal cake tins – collecting chocolate tins at Christmas time is always handy

Any more suggestions, please let me know!
